Ahoy on the waters of Leipzig from August 16 to 18 - City of Leipzig

The events take place in the Lindenau harbor and on the Karl Heine Canal. A water festival shuttle takes guests every hour by barge from the jetty at the Stabbogenbrücke bridge near the Stelzenhaus to Lindenau harbor. A varied program awaits all visitors.

Children can make mini rafts on the banks of Pirate Island on the Karl Heine Canal on Saturday and Sunday. Young anglers can also be found on the banks, where they can practise their fishing skills under the guidance of the Leipzig Anglers' Association.

Teams of two compete against each other in rowing boats in the fishermen's and ring jousting competition to push each other out of the boats in a historic fishermen's jousting competition or to hash out a ring under the bar arch bridge in the skill competition. On Sunday, there is a speed paddling competition in which the fastest paddlers in Leipzig compete against the clock in single kayaks.

You can paddle for two hours for free in four Green Kayaks and collect garbage from Leipzig's waters. Gesundheitssport Dr. Heine e.V. is organizing a rowing regatta to Lindenau Harbour on Sunday at 2 p.m., where temporary boat hire will also be available during the water festival.

A pop-up cinema with three short films about water and people will take place on the square in front of St. Philip's Church. If you have never experienced a harbor service before, the Nathanael parish invites you to join them on the festival stage on the Karl Heine Canal on Sunday at 10 am.

On Saturday and Sunday, the MS Weltfrieden will provide the right atmosphere. From the Stelzenhaus at 11 a.m., two Leipzig songwriters invite you to a musical boat trip on Leipzig's waterways.
