The new night bus line NXL (Nacht eXpress Flughafen LEJ) will in future connect the airport with the city center via the north of Leipzig. The improved service is financed by the Zweckverband für den Nahverkehrsraum Leipzig and complements the S-Bahn lines S5 and S5X.
There are two night bus trips a day from the main station in each direction, which are particularly suitable for very early arrivals or very late departures from the airport. The buses depart daily at 0:50 and 2:22 a.m. from Leipzig Central Station, and in the opposite direction the trips from the airport start at 1:35 a.m. and 3:05 a.m.. Within the Leipzig city area, stops in the districts of Eutritzsch, Gohlis, Möckern and Lindenthal are served. The NXL line thus also extends the night bus service in these districts.
Flights departing before 6:30 a.m. are now also easily accessible for travelers using local public transport.
As a mobility service provider, we are looking forward to better connecting passengers in the north of Leipzig with the new night service and transporting them to the airport and on vacation.
