From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., interested parties will have the opportunity to try out numerous instruments, talk to teachers and find out about available places and the range of lessons and events on offer. In short discovery concerts in the school's concert hall, you can experience instruments and dance up close, and live performances by larger ensembles in front of the music school will give an insight into the many possibilities of making music together. Younger visitors in particular can get creative with hands-on activities and a craft street.
The day before, on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Leipzig Music School's symphonic wind orchestra "J S. Bach" will perform its "SBO-Herbstklänge" in the evening with pieces from classical, pop and film music in the Feinkost courtyard. On Sunday, September 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:40 p.m., a wide variety of formations from accordion to klezmer will showcase their skills as part of the "Day of the Music School at the Leipzig Market Days" on the market in Leipzig, free of charge for all listeners. On October 2, the music school's big band will provide lively music from 6 p.m. as part of the Leipzig Market Days.
