Opening of the Library of Things in Leipzig

The Leipzig Municipal Libraries are launching the "Library of Things" - a special offer in the field of music. Musical instruments such as ukuleles, children's accordions, cajons and accessories such as tuners and audio recorders for children and music enthusiasts can be borrowed here. The focus is on early musical education for children, who can gain their first musical experiences in a playful way and develop their interest in music. From child-friendly instruments to practical music accessories, the library makes it easy to discover the world of music.

The Library of Things is located in the music library on the 3rd floor of the city library. Instruments can be taken out, tried out and borrowed independently.

The opening is planned for October 26, 2024 at 10:30 am. "Eine ganz kleine Nachtmusik" by Wolfgang Mozart, a composition that recently attracted a great deal of attention, will be performed at the opening. The piece will be presented by music students Vincent Geer (violin), David Geer (violin) and Elisabeth Zimmermann (cello) in the Oberlichtsaal of the City Library on the 2nd floor.
