Scholarships for Leipzig's SMEs: City of Leipzig and HHL support the regional economy

The "SME Scholarship for Leipzig" offers five full and five partial scholarships (25 percent) for the part-time MBA at HHL. The course provides in-depth management knowledge and sustainable leadership skills. Clemens Schülke, Mayor and Alderman for Economic Affairs, Labor and Digital Affairs of the City of Leipzig, is enthusiastic: "HHL's new 'SME Scholarship for Leipzig' strengthens our economy. Leipzig companies can not only retain their talents, but also train them at a world-class business school that teaches according to international standards and is still right here in Leipzig."

Applications must meet the admission requirements of HHL's part-time MBA program. Prerequisites include at least three years of professional experience and a previous academic degree. One advantage of this MBA program is that, unlike other management master's programs, all bachelor's degrees are accepted.

Interested parties who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by sending a letter of recommendation from their employer to mittelstandsstipendium@hhl.de. Eligible companies can also nominate potential scholarship holders.

There is a close partnership between the City of Leipzig and HHL that goes beyond the SME scholarship. On December 14, 2023, the Leipzig City Council unanimously decided to support HHL with 450,000 euros annually until 2027. This support strengthens HHL's presence in the start-up and SME scene in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, attracting and training skilled workers and marketing Leipzig as a business location.
