Traffic restrictions in the Red Bull Arena area during concerts - City of Leipzig

The start of the show support with various support acts is scheduled for 5 pm. Due to another two concerts, the traffic exception situation around the stadium will remain in place for the following days. Roland Kaiser will perform on Friday, July 19 at 8 pm. The show supports will start at around 7:15 pm. On Saturday, July 20, Peter Maffay's concert will begin at around 7:45 pm. Extensive traffic organization measures are required for all three concerts. In order to secure the emergency and rescue routes in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, comprehensive stopping restrictions will be imposed in Goyastraße, Eitingonstraße, Max-Planck-Straße, Capastraße as well as on Cottaweg and the stadium forecourt.

A restricted traffic area in the Waldstraßenviertel will be set up on all three concert days from 2 pm until the start of each concert at around 8 pm. In order to speed up public transport and reduce individual traffic in the area around the stadium, Ranstädter Steinweg and Jahnallee between Tröndlinring and Waldplatz will also be closed in the out-of-town direction. Furthermore, the residents' protection zone will be extended from Leibnizstraße to Jacobstraße and a control point for residents, cabs and delivery vehicles will be set up at the Humboldtstraße/Jacobstraße junction. Access to the western Waldstraße district will continue to be via the street Am Sportforum into Goyastraße. Cyclists can enter the restricted area where the additional sign "Cyclists free" is displayed.

Due to the traffic restrictions and limited parking options in the area surrounding the stadium, visitors arriving by car are strongly recommended to use the signposted park-and-ride parking lots "Neue Messe", "Schönauer Ring", "Plovdiver Straße", "Lausen" and "Völkerschlachtdenkmal". Digital display boards on the highway ring road and on federal highways indicate these parking spaces. At the end of each concert, there may also be additional operational traffic restrictions during arrival and departure.

Waldplatz and the arena can be reached by streetcar despite construction work on the Zeppelin Bridge. The public order office recommends using the public transport services. Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe will be running regular lines and various special lines to Waldplatz. In addition, the special tram line 56 offers a connection between the exhibition grounds, the west side of the main station and the Goerdelerring to Waldplatz. Streetcar line 15 will also be reinforced with additional journeys. For departures, streetcar lines 1, 3, 4, 7, 15 and 16 will run at least every 15 minutes into the night.

Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe publishes the timetable and information on the special lines online. Passengers can obtain further information via the service telephone 0341 19449 or via the free LeipzigMove app. Tickets for all three concerts entitle the holder to free use of buses, streetcars and local trains in fare zone 110 for four hours before and after the concert.

Further information is available online and via the LeipzigMove app.
